Nene Sokhna was born in Senegal, Africa and early in her teens she was discovered by a model scout. She then moved to Paris and started an amazing modeling career. Her first show was for Yves Saint Laurent. She traveled all around the world and enjoyed working with the biggest designers on the planet such as Mr. Yves Saint Laurent himself, Mr. Emmilio Ungaro and Mr. Christian Dior.
She spent many weeks at a time with the great Mr. Yves Saint Laurent in his studio, and it was there that she was inspired to start creating her own designs.
Her first original piece, a Caftan, was actually made in of Yves Saint Laurent’s studio and was fitted on Nene herself using a rare piece of silk from North Africa .This unique piece is a homage to the great Yves Saint Laurant and is available in her online store.
